Hi! I get asked this question a lot so made sense to do a little write up about it.

Things to think about when choosing your piece:

Firstly.. well, personal preference! What colour scheme or theme do you have in your nursery or kids room? Luckily, the majority of my prints have been designed to fit most rooms so colour clashes shouldn’t be a problem. Think about whether you want to stick with the theme you have going on or if you want to mix it up - i.e the feelings print would be the perfect match for a safari themed room, whereas the ABC would suit a more simple room that may want a subtle pop of colour.

Traditional or modern? In my personal opinion you can't beat a framed print, however if you are going for a more relaxed feel in the room, a wall hanging may be a good option. Which leads me onto...

Space! Do you have a decent sized wall space? The world map in A2 size is great for these kind of spaces, but I’d recommend going for a larger frame if you have a huge wall as although they are large in size, it can look lost in the room if the wall space is too vast. Maps look lovely above changing spaces, cots or even by little reading nooks. They’re also a great addition to a playroom.

So if you have a room on the smaller side and less wall space to play with, consider a smaller print which you could hang from shelving or a book shelf for example. These pieces also work with a traditional frame and you could even create a gallery wall with any other prints if you have the space.

Light: For brighter spaces, consider going for a wall hanging over a print in a frame. This eliminates the problem of any glare you will get from the glass in a frame if the space you are thinking of is by a window.

Any good frame recommendations?

Another frequently asked question I get after a purchase is ‘where can I get a suitable frame from for my world map?’.
Here’s a simple A2 frame that I know has been popular for the map (and I’ve used myself so know it’s good quality). This frame is also good as it uses perspex rather than glass which is safer for baby and child.

Other options if traditional frames aren't your thing, are wooden strip frames.
Rather than a traditional frame, they have two pieces of wood top and bottom and are hung from a bit of string. They look really smart and are perfect for making an area of a kids room look a bit more snazzy if traditional frames aren't for you. Our A3 designs (ABC, British Isles, Feelings) work really well with this type of frame.

Below are a few examples to show how different frames can work in different spaces.

Hope this helps!
