How Do I Choose the Right Print for My Nursery?

I get asked this question a lot so made sense to do a little write up about it.

Things to think about when choosing your piece:

Firstly.. well, personal preference! What colour scheme or theme do you have going on in your nursery or kids room? Luckily, the majority of my prints have been designed to fit most rooms so colour clashes shouldn’t be a problem. Think about whether you want to stick with the theme you have going on or if you want to mix it up - i.e the feelings print would be the perfect match for a safari themed room, whereas the ABC would suit a more simple room that may want a subtle pop of colour.

Secondly, space! Do you have a decent sized wall space? The world map and ABC in A2 size is great for these kind of spaces, but I’d recommend going for a larger frame if you have a huge wall as although they are large in size, it can look lost in the room if the wall space is too vast. Maps look lovely above changing spaces, cots or even by little reading nooks. They’re also a great addition to a playroom.

The A3 designs (ABC, British Isles, Feelings) also work really well with wooden strip frames which seem to be hugely popular at the moment. Rather than a traditional frame, they have two pieces of wood top and bottom and are hung from a bit of string. They look really smart and are perfect for making an area of a kids room look a bit more snazzy.

So if you have a room on the smaller side and less wall space to play with, consider a smaller print which you could hang from shelving or a book shelf for example. These pieces also work with a traditional frame and you could even create a gallery wall with any other prints if you have the space.

Below are a few examples to show how different frames can work in different spaces.

Another frequently asked question I get after a purchase is ‘where can I get a suitable frame from for my world map?’.
Here’s a simple A2 frame in white that I know has been popular for the map (and I’ve used myself so know it’s good quality:)). This frame is also good as it uses perspex rather than glass which is safer for baby and child.

Hope this helps!
